Kingsbarns Golf Links
The modern links against which all others are judged
The early days of golf produced nearly all the classic links courses. Then, for decades, nothing. Kingsbarns broke the losing streak. Architect Kyle Phillips – long time designer with Robert Trent Jones III – cracked the code. Give incredible sea views, challenge the pros while accommodating average golfers, and dial up the fun and people will come. Located mere miles from the Old Course, Kingsbarns presents an alternative view of what a great links can be.
The course is varied and interesting and a lot of fun to play. A lot of land was moved to build the course and critics of Kingsbarns cite this as something that detracts from it, since it is not pure links land. Hogwash! The course is great and feels and plays like a links course…Playing the Top 100
Forget your links courses like St Andrews and Muirfield where you barely see the sea, Kingsbarns ensures that you get a great view of the water from pretty much every hole and that definitely contributes to the sheer exhilaration you feel when playing. It really isn’t the hardest course in the world and that’s great, it means you can enjoy the whole package without sweating a la Carnoustie over every shot.UK Golf Guy
