Kilspindie Golf Club

Aberlady, Scotland

Nevermind the short yardage, this sea-hugging gem is a must-play

Yardage is an arbitrary construct and getting overly hung-up on it means you’re going to miss some great experiences. Case point: Kilspindie. It’s 5,500 yards from the tips. But if the wind is blowing, that number is meaningless. But even on a calm day, Kilspindie is worth savoring. It’s holes hug the sea like few other courses in the world. It’s an wide-open but enchanting setting. And it’s close enough to Edinburgh Airport that it’s an ideal first or last day play. It’s a perfect little Scottish links gem, well worth your time.
