There is something about Boat of Garten that makes some people fall hopelessly in love with it. Not everybody – if you’re a big swinger who likes to bomb away without thought, Boat is not for you. But if you like to think your way through a round, if you like a course to surprise and delight you, maybe even make you laugh, you’re gonna have some fun with here. It’s short, but on a course like this, it doesn’t really matter. You’re probably not hitting driver often anyways. Seek out the Boat, soak it all in and become the next evangelize about this Highlands gem.

It is difficult to evaluate and assess a golf course outside of its environment. Certainly, it is easy to fall in love with courses like Pebble Beach or Turnberry because of their scenic beauty. Or with Pine Valley or Morfontaine because of their splendid isolation. The environment at the Boat is just as enchanting, but in a different way. … I would like to apply to become president of the Boat of Garten fan club.

Dress: Jackets and ties are not required at Boat of Garten but you cannot wear blue denim jeans, track-suits, football/rugby shirts, vests or t-shirts. Shorts should be tailored worn with socks (long or sports).
