There’s not a better links outside of the UK

A thought experiment: create in your mind the ideal golf course. Go ahead, do it. What you’re picturing is probably near the sea. It’s likely a links and undoubtedly it skirts the edges of dramatic cliffs. There will be views for days. The course is going to have a sense of rhythm and personality; it’ll tease you, play with you. The course will probably full from the best parts of the classic courses in Scotland, Ireland and England; the holes will have variety and endless strategic interest. It’ll challenge without overwhelming. The environment will be totally welcoming and friendly. And above all else, it’ll be fun. Unforgettable. But in the end, there’s no point to picturing the ideal course, because Pacific Dunes exists.
