A brilliant brute leaping back and forth across the Little Deschutes River

Oregon doesn’t get enough credit. It’s a spectacular state. And Crosswater is a tour of all that makes Oregon great. With dramatic mountains in the (not-so-far) distance, extinct volcanos, meandering rivers, meadows, forests and more, Sunriver is Oregon in a nutshell. All this wouldn’t mean anything if Crosswater didn’t deliver on the golf front. It does, and more. This is a hard course, but a deeply enjoyable one. Water is everywhere – the name is not a suggestion. You’d better be accurate, or you’ll be down a serious amount of balls. Crosswater is easily one of the highlights of Oregon’s golfing scene.
Expert Reviews
It’s quite possibly the most scenic course I’ve ever played. It’s also incredibly accessible for everyone from the high handicapper to the tour pro – each set of tees provides a unique challenge. Much more so than most courses, each tee box essentially has you playing a different golf course because of the variety.

With the stunning scenery of the two rivers, the wetlands and lush fairways, the white sand bunkers, and the snow-capped mountains as a backdrop the front nine is your warm up round and it’s a couple hundred yards shorter from every tee box and a little easier than the back nine. As good as the front is, from my perspective the back is even better – more interesting holes, a little longer, 42 treacherous bunkers, the beautiful Deschutes River, and several forced carries off the tee and on the approach to the greens.
