Big dunes make for a big challenge

There are the dunes you see on many courses and then there are sand mountains. Portstewart has sand mountain, and they make for an incredible landscape to play over. The opening nine at Portstewart’s Strange is where you dive in deep. The result? A seriously challenging, incredibly scenic, and totally unforgettable outward nine that alone assures Portstewart’s place as one of Northern Ireland’s best (and most enjoyable) courses. The back nine, while not quite as boisterously remarkable, is still worthwhile inclusion on top course. This is as memorable a links you’ll find.
