The first time I ever saw the Grand Canyon in person, I was speechless. Of course I’d seen it in images hundreds of times, but pictures can only convey so much. When you step out and see it in person, stretching to infinity, it just something else –– something deeply special. The same is true with Royal County Down. As beautiful as photos look, in person it’s just unreal, out of this world. There may not be a more beautiful spot in this world where you can play golf. And – incredibly – the course is as good as the setting is beautiful. Hard, yes, but also good. This is one of the top handful of golf courses in the world for a reason.

Royal County Down is open year round, weather permitting

February through July are the driest months (although only marginally so), while the warmest temperatures can be found May through October.  April through September is a fine time to play, with May-July being your best bet.

Caddies are £60 for a senior caddy and £40 for a standard. Forecaddies are £80 per group. It is recommended you reserve a caddie in advance.

Pull carts are available for £5.

GPA electric pull carts are £20.

Golf carts are not allowed.
