Dunluce at Royal Portrush Golf Club
Portrush, Northern Ireland
No course is perfect…but Dunluce comes pretty close.
No golf course is perfect, not even the Old Course. Even among the great courses of the world, there are few without a least a couple flaws. But if there ever was a perfect course, it might be the Dunluce course at Royal Portrush. Maybe you could say it might be too challenging for some, but that’s about it. Everything about it is inspires: the setting, routing, greens, the history, each hole after unforgettable hole. Even the drive up to the club. Reviewer after reviewer says playing Dunluce left them with a giant grin plastered across their faces. That’s perfection.
It’s easy to proclaim your love for a course when you are knocking the lights out, a little harder when you aren’t quite firing on all cylinders. Royal Portrush though is such a great place to be that, whatever the standard of your game, it’s impossible not to leave with a smile on your face and planning a return visit.UK Golf Guy
Forget Magnolia Drive or Seventeen Mile Drive. Never mind the dirt road at Yeaman’s Hall. The best entrance to any golf club is the A1 as it snakes along the cliffs along the rugged northern Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. Rounding the bend Royal Portrush Golf Club unfolds before one’s eyes, set among tumbling dunes that run to the cliff’s edge with the Atlantic Ocean pounding below.Golf Club Atlas
