Ardglass Golf Club

Ardglass, Northern Ireland

These craggy clifftops make a spectacular – and surprisingly accessible – setting.

Of all the settings where you can golf, clifftop courses have to be the most fun…and rarest. No other shot in golf compares to a heroic land-it-or-splash-it shot high above crashing surf. These rare courses also tend to be expensive – think Pebble Beach, Old Head, etc. So when you come across a course dropped over spectacular cliffs that’s not insanely expensive, well, you’ve got a can’t-miss addition to your next trip. Northern Ireland’s Ardsglass is just that. Even though less known than its Northern Ireland neighbors like Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, it’s no less of an essential play.
