Great golf is often found in the wilds – raw nature really complements a course. Rare is it to find a great course in a major urban center, and even rarer is it to find one that feels wild and unspoiled. Yet, here we have The Island. It’s 8 miles from Dublin Airport, half that as the crow flies. It’s a raw and naturalistic links full of shaggy dunes. You’re in an isolated place, on what was an actual island within recent memory. It’s not a fancy place but it is a highly enjoyable journey played over a rumpled linksscape. You’ll never believe you’re in Dublin.

When to Play
The Island is open year around, weather permitting.
February through July are the drier months, while the warmest temperatures can be found June through September. April through October is a fine time to play, with May-July being your best bet.

Visitor Tee Times
Visitors may play The Island Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday afternoons, Fridays, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.
Rentals & Caddies
Caddies are available for €50 plus gratuity and forecaddies are €25 plus gratuity. Book them in advance by calling 00 353 1 843 6205 or emailing proshop@theislandgolfclub.com.
Clubs and shoes are available to rent. Book them in advance.
Pull carts are available to rent. Book them in advance.
Electric hand carts are available to rent. Book them in advance.
Golf carts are only available to those who need them for medical reasons. Bring a medical certificate and reserve in advance.
Getting There
Practice Facilities
The Island has a putting green, chipping area with bunkers, and a driving range. Range balls are complementary.
